Frequently asked questions

Answers about the platform, WhatsApp messaging rules, onboarding and pricing.

General

What is the WhatsApp Business API?

The WhatsApp Business API is part of Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform. It lets businesses message customers at scale with many agents on one number, automation, integrations and approved message templates, which the standard WhatsApp Business app cannot do.

Who is WHAMAA for?

WHAMAA is for businesses that want to use WhatsApp for marketing, sales, support or commerce in a structured way, from growing companies with a small team to larger organisations with several departments.

Can we use our existing business number?

In most cases, yes. Depending on how the number is used today, it may need to be moved from the WhatsApp Business app, or connected in a way that keeps the app running alongside the platform where Meta supports it. We check eligibility with you during onboarding.

Can our team manage conversations together?

Yes. Every agent gets their own login on a shared business number, with assignment, internal notes, routing rules and performance reporting.

Can WHAMAA integrate with our CRM or online store?

Yes. WHAMAA integrates with Shopify, Zoho CRM and Google Sheets, and offers an API and webhooks for other systems. See the integrations page or ask us about your tools.

Can we create automated chatbots?

Yes. Build chatbot flows visually with buttons, questions and conditions, answer FAQs, capture details and hand over to a person whenever needed.

How does WhatsApp messaging pricing work?

There are two parts. Your WHAMAA plan covers the platform. Separately, Meta charges for template messages based on the message category and the recipient’s country. Ask us for the current rates for your markets.

Can we send campaigns through WhatsApp?

Yes, to customers who have opted in to hear from you, using approved message templates. WHAMAA supports segmentation, scheduling, personalisation and campaign reporting.

Can customers be transferred to human agents?

Yes. Conversations can move from a chatbot to an agent at any point, with the full history and any captured details attached.

How do we get started?

Book a demo. We will understand your goals, show you the platform with your own scenarios, and guide you through onboarding and your first automations.

Getting started

How long does onboarding take?

It depends on your setup and on Meta’s review steps, such as business verification and template approval. We guide you through each step and help you prepare in advance so you can go live as soon as possible.

Do we need a Meta Business account?

Yes. The WhatsApp Business Platform is linked to a Meta Business account. If you do not have one, we help you create it.

Can we keep using the WhatsApp Business app?

This depends on your number and Meta’s current options. Some numbers can run the app and the platform together; others need to move fully to the platform. We confirm what applies to you during onboarding.

Is there a setup fee?

There is no setup fee to start using the WhatsApp Business API through WHAMAA. Custom integration or setup work beyond standard onboarding is quoted separately if needed.

Platform and features

How many agents can use one number?

Many agents can work from one business number, each with their own login. Pricing is per user.

What is a chatbot session?

Each time a WHAMAA chatbot handles a conversation with a customer, it uses one chatbot session. Plans include a set number of sessions, and you can add more from your plan if needed.

Can we connect WHAMAA to our systems?

Yes, through ready-made integrations for Shopify, Zoho CRM and Google Sheets, or through the API and webhooks for other systems.

Which reports are available?

Reports cover message delivery, reads and replies, campaign performance, conversation volumes and agent performance.

Messaging rules and compliance

What is the 24-hour customer service window?

When a customer messages you, a 24-hour window opens in which you can reply freely. Outside that window, you need an approved message template to start the conversation again.

Why do customers need to opt in?

WhatsApp requires businesses to have customers’ permission before sending them messages. Opt-in also protects your number’s quality rating, because customers who expect your messages are less likely to block or report you.

What happens if customers block or report our messages?

High block and report rates lower your quality rating and can reduce your messaging limits. Sending relevant messages to opted-in customers, at a sensible frequency, keeps your number healthy.

Does WHAMAA support bulk spam messaging?

No. WHAMAA supports permission-based messaging that follows WhatsApp’s Business and Commerce policies. Unsolicited bulk messaging is not supported.

Pricing and billing

What are the costs involved?

Your WHAMAA subscription covers the platform and is priced per user. Meta’s messaging charges are separate and depend on message category and the recipient’s country.

Can we change plans?

Yes. You can move between plans and billing periods. Upgrades take effect immediately on a pro-rated basis; downgrades take effect at the end of the billing cycle.

Are there cancellation fees?

There are no cancellation fees. Payments and credits already processed are not refundable. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Major credit cards are accepted. Annual plans can also be paid by bank transfer.
